Kits And Procedures

All of these wooden items come in kits of ten, and include a free completed sample. The one-time deposit for each kit that you have at the same time is $50.00. For each set of ten that is completed to our specifications and sent to us, we will pay you $50.00 plus first class postage and ship you a replacement kit of ten.

Because we market a large number of items, from time to time we will ask you to make a different item in order to meet our production needs. We have many items not shown on this web site, and are constantly developing new ones. The items shown on this web site are the only ones currently available to new producers. All of our items are miniatures for dollhouses, as that is our specialty. When we do ask you to switch to a different product, we will provide you with a completed sample. We will accept the kit you are currently making first, of course. If you start with the miniature bows, we will never ask you to do a wood item, (unless you want to).

Why is there a deposit?

Good question! We send you all of the materials you will need. If you make a mistake, we will send you more so you can fix it. There is never a charge for materials. You do not ever have to go out and buy anything. The deposit is the only way we have to be sure you will keep up your end, and you won't just stick the kit under the bed! You send that deposit one time, and we keep sending you new materials over and over until you quit. Then you get your deposit back!

Do I need to supply anything myself?

You need to supply:

  • A pair of scissors

  • A good ruler (we suggest a 6" metal ruler with a cork back...we have found good ones at Office Depot, Office Max and Staples)

  • If you choose a box that has knobs or hinges, you will need a small pair of wire cutters.

  • For the miniature bows, you will need a low temperature miniature hot glue gun.

...that's it!

Beware of companies that charge a fee and then require you to buy supplies! What is the fee for? You should not have to pay a fee to work for anyone!

How long will it take me to make a product or complete a kit?

There is no average time. We believe that any of our kits can be completed in a day. For many people this may be a four or five hour day, for others it may be much longer. People's skills and work habits vary considerably; there is no average.

Do I have to keep sending you a deposit every time?

NO. You send in a deposit and we send you the materials for 10 boxes. You make one and send it to us for evaluation. We return it to you with a written evaluation. You then complete the remaining nine boxes and send them to us. We send you a check for $50.00 plus first class postage plus another kit for you to make. Your deposit is refunded to you whenever you quit, provided that you have completed at least one kit for us.

Is there a limit on how many I can make?

NO. People usually start with one kit at a time, to be sure that they enjoy making miniatures, but some of our more advanced assemblers have more than one kit at the same time, and have more than one deposit on file to cover them (You must have a deposit for each kit you have out at the same time).

How long will it take to get started?

We send the start-up materials right away when you send us a money order or charge the deposit to your credit card. If you use a personal check, we send your order in three weeks, to allow time for the check to clear.

When will I get paid?

We send out the checks on the same day your items are accepted. We believe in prompt payment.

What happens if my items are not accepted?

This rarely happens. However, if any of your items are returned to you, we will send an explanation of the corrections that need to be made. If you need extra supplies to make corrections, you may order them at no charge. After you make the corrections, you may resubmit the items for payment.

I live in Orlando. May I come to your office?

YES. Our offices are at 915 West Lake Holden Point, (formerly 37th Street), in Orlando. We are in a residential home off South Orange Blossom Trail. We are here Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. We have samples of all of our items on display in our office, as well as the kits and materials. We like you to come in before 4:00 pm so that we will have plenty of time to spend with you. We also request that you call before coming to our office.

May I drop off my items in person?

YES. If your items are in our office by 10:00 am we will have them inspected and, when they are accepted, your check will by ready by 4:00 pm that day. If you drop something off after 10:00 am it may be delayed until 4:00 pm the next day.

May I do a sample first?

We do insist that you send in your first item for evaluation. We will let you know if you are on the right track. If there are any problems, we will tell you about them before you make ten that have to be redone. This assures you that you are making a product that we can sell, and are using your time productively.
